MESQUITE, Nev. -- Brandon Campbell, a 4-star running back from Houston, Texas, has been high on USC's 2021 board since he was offered last June.
And the strength of interest is very much mutual, he affirmed Saturday at the big Pylon 7v7 tournament about an hour outside of Las Vegas.
Campbell said he talks to USC running backs coach Mike Jinks "probably like every day" and is planning an individual visit sometime in March to get some one-on-one time with the coaching staff.
"I'm [planning] to get up there in March. I'm going to get up there on a separate date, probably not a Junior Day but something more personal, so I'm going to get up there and really build a relationship with the staff and stuff," Campbell told TrojanSports.com. "My dad has a relationship with Coach Jinks -- they played basketball in high school for a little bit in San Antonio. ...
"[My dad] just tells me Coach Jinks is a real straightforward guy, he knows what he's talking about. He trusts him in that situation, so that's good. I feel like my family would trust him, so that's really big for me -- my family has trust in him."
