This weekend, Rivals250 tailback Mychale Salahuddin made the long trip from Washington, DC to Los Angeles for USC's Rising Stars Camp. And while on campus, the Trojan c0aching staff convinced him it would be best to play college football out West.

"On my visit this weekend," Salahuddin said when asked when he made his decision. "I learned a lot about USC on a short weekend. And I was amazed by it."

Apparently, the 5-foot-11 and 190-pounder found that USC offers a lot to be amazed by.

"It was a big time decision for me," Salahuddin said when asked about the commitment. "Football is my ticket wherever I go. But the connections I found USC has and the academic support and everything USC has to offer, I was really amazed by and I really had to take this opportunity into consideration."

USC also fits what Salahuddin wants to do academically. He's considering a business major and USC offers one of the best business programs in the entire country.

"The business school that they had," Salahuddin said when asked what impressed him the most on the visit. "They had a business hall of fame, they had different interns walking around, trying to get different people to invest in their companies. I was just amazed."

USC's coaches have also impressed for a while. Salahuddin has had a strong interest in USC since Deland McCullough got involved with recruiting him so many months ago.

"I have very strong relationships with all the coaches," Salahuddin said. "Coach McCullough was telling me about the family aspect of USC. They have very family atmosphere and I really liked it. I have numerous connections down there that I've built on my recent visits."

Because he's a big time prospect and because they've all grown so close, the Trojan staff was overjoyed when they heard about the commitment.

"The coaches, man, they were really excited about the move," Salahuddin said when asked about the staff's reaction. "I'm really looking forward to being able to bring a national championship back home to USC."

Salahuddin will also try to enroll in college early, although USC will have a battle on its hands to keep him committed.

"I'm going to continue to take visits," Salahuddin said when asked about his future with recruiting.

He mentions potential visits to Baylor, Michigan, North Carolina, Oregon and Pitt. But despite those plans, he feels his pledge to the Trojans is a solid one.

"Right now, I'm most positive," Salahuddin said when asked about his commitment to USC. "I believe that the opportunities it presents other than football are mind blowing."
