Rivals100 defensive tackle Jay Tufele gave USC a huge boost in the trenches and early in the morning on National Signing Day. The product of Bingham HS in South Jordan, Utah announced his intentions to commit to USC during a morning ceremony at his high school.

Tufele chose the Trojans over BYU, Michigan, Ohio State and Utah, lining up precisely with what TrojanSports.com intern Drew Krinsky reported would happen just after Tufele visited USC’s campus.

The 6-foot-2 and 306-pound prospect has previously pointed to USC’s history with Polynesian players, defensive line coach Kenechi Udeze, a family feeling and much more when discussing his interest in becoming a Trojan.

And on Wednesday, he pointed out some similar themes from Bingham HS's auditorium. He even had a young relative of his help him show off his USC hat.

"First off I would like to thank my Heavenly Father," Tufele said in front of a packed crowd. "I would also like to thank all my coaches, teammates, past and present. You guys are the real MVP, you guys pushed me to be the best I could be. And also the administration at my high school, all the teachers. You're the best. Last but not least, also, my family. We've been through thick and thin together and you guys are my heart. With this being said, the school I will be attending and calling home for the next four years is the University of Southern California."

Tufele joins an absolutely loaded defensive line class for USC that might be able to help the Trojans overcome depth issues at that position during the 2017 season.
