When it comes to Ronnie Perkins, don't let the three-star ranking fool you. The product of St. Louis, Mo. Lutheran Noth HS is one of the most sought after defensive ends in the entire country.

Perkins already has more than 30 scholarship offers, coming from every region imaginable. And a few of those scholarship offers are from some of the best football schools in the country.

Just two weeks, ago, shortly after USC offered Perkins a scholarship, TrojanSports.com published an article asking him if there was enough time for the Trojans to impress. His answer was yes and apparently, he was telling the truth. On Wednesday, the 6-foot-4 and 260-pounder decided to cut his list down to just 12 schools. He released his favorites on Twitter and USC made the cut.

USC's Kenechi Udeze has been recruiting Perkins for a few weeks now and also visited Lutheran North HS about "two weeks ago" according to the young prospect. The effort paid off as Udeze helped USC work to capture Perkins' attention.

"Me and Coach (Kenechi) Udeze are building a strong relationship," Perkins told TrojanSports.com when asked about why he's interested in USC.

USC's football program is also very impressive to Perkins. That seems to matter a lot to him.

"They have a a chance to sign me because of the tradition," Perkins said of USC.

As for a potential visit to campus, he's still working to make it happen.

"I hope I can visit," Perkins said. "It's really far but it can be one of my officials."

Perkins says he doesn't have any visits scheduled at this time.
