Hours after TrojanSports.com reported that five-star 2019 quarterback JT Daniels would commit to USC tonight, the budding superstar from Mater Dei HS announced on Twitter that he had decided on the Trojans.

JT Daniels is quite the quarterback specimen and is rated as a five-star player by Rivals.com. National recruiting analyst Adam Gorney has even gone a step further when describing his play.

"Daniels is the best QB in high school right now regardless of class," Gorney recently told TrojanSports.com. "He puts the ball exactly where only the receiver can catch it on almost every pass."

Today, Gorney continued his high praise of Daniels.

"JT Daniels is the most college-ready quarterback I've seen in California in the eight years I've been doing this and one of the best I've seen in all the years I've been involved with football recruiting," Gorney said. "He has all the on-field tools to be incredibly special, he has excellent arm strength and phenomenal ball placement. He never seems to throw a bad pass in games. What I like even more is his ability and love to study defenses, find weaknesses and then make them pay. We're talking about a sophomore in high school here, too. He will continue to develop his skills, improve his game and he has the want-to to be something really special. Sam Darnold is a phenomenal quarterback and Daniels will be at USC soon enough. The Trojans' offense should be humming like a Ferrari for years."

TrojanSports.com analyst Murf Baldwin has also been impressed with Daniels.

"J.T. Daniels is your classic point-and-shoot signal-caller from the standpoint that he can get the ball wherever he wants it to go," Baldwin said. "While that may sound rudimentary, you'd be surprised how most quarterback's throws vary by location depending on the situation. Daniels' ability to change his arm-slot, combined with his piston-like throwing motion, puts him in the upper-echelon, on or off-schedule, with any QB I've studied on film. His ability to throw back-shoulder fades is only superseded by his ability to work the quick game like a point guard in that old Phoenix Suns style of play. He has awesome pocket-mobility, and he can extend plays while detaching from the pocket; he's accurate on the run, too. His deep ball is money, and he can carry a vertical approach, if necessary. The rich get richer with USC adding, yet, another high-caliber QB to its seemingly endless supply."

Daniels is USC's second commitment in the 2019 class, joining Santa Clarita, Calif. four-star linebacker De'Gabriel Floyd.
