USC already has one 4-star quarterback committed in this 2021 class, and the Trojans remain a finalist for another.

Miller Moss, the 4-star QB from Bishop Alemany High School, put USC in his top 4 list Thursday night along with UCLA, Alabama and LSU.

USC landed a commitment from fellow 4-star QB Jake Garcia (La Habra HS) in September. Garcia is the No. 3-ranked pro-style QB and No. 23 overall prospect in the 2021 class.

With the news Thursday that Trojans QB JT Daniels is entering the NCAA transfer portal, the need for not just depth but more talented arms in the quarterback room is even more pronounced.

He and Moss are well acquainted and Moss has repeatedly said that Garcia's commitment does not preclude him from also choosing the Trojans.

"My college decision is about myself. I'm super happy for Jake that he found a place that he loves and he can call home, but I'm trying to do the same for me," Moss told TrojanSports.com in February. "If USC is that place, that's where I'll end up going because that's where I want to go -- I'm not going to base my college decision off anyone else. I have enough confidence in what I can bring to the table that I think I'm in a place to do that. I love Jake, he's been one of my good friends since we were 12 or whatever when we started competing. My decision is going to be based on me."

Moss is ranked the No. 7 pro-style QB and No. 90 overall prospect.

He completed 67.4 percent of his passes for 3,118 yards, 28 touchdowns and 10 interceptions last season for Bishop Alemany.
